The human touch has the power to heal. Massage is the guiding technique that harnesses the power of touch to enhance your physical and mental health. Massage reduces stress by improving circulation, triggering the release of endorphins, and relieving physical symptoms. Massage as a vocation is a learned skill.
Swedish Massage Training
Swedish massage originated in Europe and employs the use of long, soothing hand strokes designed to relax muscles and release endorphins. The patient is draped with a sheet during the session. Oils and/or lotions are used to facilitate the gentle manipulation of muscles, relieving tension and stiffness and pain.
Deep Tissue Massage
Increased pressure, using the hand, elbow, and forearm, enables the therapist to bring added relief during a Swedish Massage session when the client’s muscles are extremely taut or stiff. This usually helps in cases of sports injuries or long-standing chronic pain.
Myofascial Release
Also included as an adjunct to Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release enables the therapist to alleviate symptoms of fibromyalgia pain using a special technique that gently loosens stiff and inflamed myofascial tissues.
Hot Stone Massage
Warm stones are placed over a warm towel on the muscles of the back and legs to soften them and to keep them warm before and during a Swedish massage session.
Reflexology
Reflexology is applied to the hands and feet using specific pressure and massage techniques. The session usually lasts approximately 45 minutes and is very relaxing. Reflexology helps to alleviate pain throughout the body.
Shiatsu Therapy
Shiatsu is a gentle, relaxing massage that increases the flow of “Chi” throughout the energy meridians of the body, opening blockages and improving overall health. Shiatsu can be performed in a sitting position and is often called “chair massage”. There is no disrobing with this modality.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a form of exercise that involves slow, flowing movements that are meant to increase Chi and to enable the therapist to adopt the correct posture and momentum to perform massage properly. It also improves concentration, focus, and the ability to learn by observation.
Cranial Sacral Balancing
Cranial-Sacral Balancing is a gentle, deeply relaxing form of hands-on body therapy which helps to free the body from stress and tension. A very light touch is used to release restrictions in the cranial-sacral system, with the aim of improving the function of the central nervous system. Cranial-Sacral Balancing is very gentle and safe, but also extremely powerful. It can help the client to experience true relaxation and all of the positive effects that deep relaxation can bring.
Positional Release
Positional Release is a form of gentle stretching and holding movements, guided by the therapist, that enables the client’s body to release tension and stress before during or after a Swedish massage.
Reiki Therapeutic Touch
Reiki is literally translated as “Spiritually guided universal life force energy”. For over 150 years, Reiki has been taught all around the world, and is a perfect adjunct to a massage practice or a stand-alone hands-on healing technique that Holistic Health Practitioners can offer without the requirements of a massage certificate. Reiki requires no disrobing. All five levels are taught. Upon completion, graduates may open their own Reiki training facility.
Aromatouch Therapy
Aromatouch Therapy involves the specific application of essential oils to the client’s spine and feet during a Swedish massage session.
Business Mastery & Marketing
Business fundamentals and marketing strategies are taught to assist the graduate in preparing for opening and operating a Wellness Center or in finding employment with an existing Wellness Center, Medi Spa, Day Spa, or Chiropractic office. The main focus is on establishing the graduate’s own business.
